Obituary for Jean Lindsey
Jean Lindsey, 77, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 12:20 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late William and Myrtle (nee Sellers) Mayfield on February 16, 1938 in New Hanover, Illinois.
She married Jackie W. Lindsey on June 15, 1956 at the First United Methodist Church in Chester, Illinois; he survives.
Jean had been the bookkeeper for Lindsey Oil, Inc. for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester and also the Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an artist, an avid crafter, gardener and seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Jackie Lindsey Chester, IL; three daughters: Patsie (Dennis) Hopkins, Christie (Jeff) Modglin, and Bitzie (Dean) Link, all of Chester, IL; one brother, Jerry Johnson of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren: Lindsey (Jeremy) Hargis of Evansville, IL, Kaile (Dustin) Eggemeyer of Chester, IL, Alexandra (Steven) Kern of Houston, TX,
Michaelyn Modglin of Chester, IL, Jacklyn Hopkins of Chester, IL, and Baylee Modglin of Chester, IL; two great grandchildren: Cash Hargis and Caitlyn Hargis, both of Evansville, IL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois with Dr. Mike Fogerson officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.
