Obituary for Ronald L. Davitz

RONALD L. DAVITZ, 70, of Goose Creek, MO passed away at 9:15 am on Friday, January 2, 2015, at Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center in Ste. Genevieve, MO.

He was born to Percy J. and Verona (nee: Marcinkowska) Davitz on November 12, 1944 in Chester, IL.

He married Sallie L. Sieckmann on October 9, 1982 in St. Louis, MO. She survives.

Ronald was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester.

He was a dock engineer for SAISA, Inc. in St. Louis, MO and had been a member of Teamsters Local #600.

Survivors include his wife Sallie Davitz, Goose Creek, MO; three children Deanna (Tony) Hicks, Wood River, IL, Jeffrey (Carrie) Davitz, Belleville, IL, Lori (Everett) Friess, Wood River, IL; two step-Children Robert (Candy) Chandler, Paris, CA, Lewis Gomez (Fiancé Chris), Las Vegas, NV; three siblings Jim (Frances) Davitz, Freeburg, IL, Fred (Linda) Davitz, Chester, IL, Bonnie (Carl) Todd, Chester, IL; one brother-in-law Delbert Stirnaman, Chester, IL; one sister-in-law Debria Davitz, Lithia Springs, GA; seven grandchildren Anastacia (Bryan) Denny, Corey (Kaitlyn) Hicks, Nicholas Hicks, Aranza Davitz, Adrian Davitz, Lindsey Friess and Paul Friess; three step-Grandchildren Erin Chandler, Miley Chandler and Alissa Gomez; eight great grandchildren Dakota, Matthew, Carter, Serenity, Jonathan, Bonny, Eli and Kane; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, one sister - Marcella Stirnaman and one brother - Gerald Davitz.

It was Ronald's wish to be cremated.

Memorial Service will be held at11:00 am, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL with the Very Reverend Eugene H. Wojick, V.F. officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 8:30 am - 11:00 am at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL.
