Obituary for Bobbie King Allen
BOBBIE KING ALLEN, 82, of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away at 11:05 pm, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his daughter's home in Belleville, Illinois.
He was born to the late Alfred Taylor and Margaret Ella (nee McDonald) Allen on February 13, 1933 in Pollard, Arkansas.
He married Dorothy Mangrum on July 24, 1951 in Pontiac, Michigan; she preceded him in death on August 22, 2001.
He was a Computer Engineer for IBM in St. Louis, Missouri for 36 years.
He was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran.
He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He enjoyed going bowling, playing horseshoes and camping.
Survivors include five children Donald (Robbie) Allen, Waterloo, IL; Robert Allen, Ellis Grove, IL; Darrel (Kathy) Allen, Dupo, IL; Karen Mathews, Belleville, IL; Edward (Garfield Lindo) Allen, Seattle, WA; one sisterLinda (Irv) Israel, Chesterfield, MO; one step-Brother Arnold (Irene) Garrison, O'Fallon, MO; eight grandchildrenJoseph, Dawn (David), Dane, Andrew, Brittany, Derek, Montrey & Sanai; six great grandchildren McKenna, Brandon, Brady, Tate, Tanner and Ivy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death byhisparents, wife, one daughter - Sharon Narsesian, three brothers Clark,
Eldo and Donald Allen and one sister - Helen Allen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday - 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Illinois.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Illinois.
Interment will follow at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
