Obituary for Irene Miller

IRENE G. MILLER, 90, of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of Chester, IL, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Mary, Queen and Mother Center in St. Louis, MO.

She was born to the late Lloyd and Christina (nee Weber) Godare on January 22, 1925 in Renault, Illinois.

She was first married to Walter Miller on December 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1968. She then married Joseph Colvis on October 19, 1984 in Chester, IL. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1996.

Irene had worked at International Shoe Co. in Evansville, IL, Prim Hosiery, Memorial Hospital, Three Springs Lodge and Juergens Cleaners.

She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Jefferson Barracks, MO.

Survivors include three children Marie (Larry) Vogt of Columbia, IL, Earl (Sharon) Miller of Dittmer, MO, Robert Miller of Renault, IL; two sisters Ethel Bievenue of Chester, IL, Delores (Glenn) Bievenue of Red Bud, IL; one sister-in-law Betty Godier of Red Bud, IL; six grandchildren Christopher (Laura) Walters of St. Louis, MO, Cyndi (Darren) Christian of Hillsboro, MO, Shon (Jennifer) Miller of High Ridge, MO, Joseph (Kimberly) MillerHouse of Springs, MO, Ryan Miller of Renault, IL, Dustin Miller of Renault, IL; and eight great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, two Husbands - Walter Miller and Joseph Colvis, three brothers - Harold, Alvin & Floyd Godier, 1 Sister Shirley Donius, two brothers-in-law - Orville Bievenue and Robert Donius.

Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 4, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois with the Very Reverend Eugene H. Wojcik, V.F. officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Illinois.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Heart Association.
