Obituary for Ryan I. Burton

Peoria, IL - Ryan I. Burton, 43, of Peoria, passed away at 4:33 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.

He was born July 29, 1971 in Watseka, IL to Larry A. and N. Gaye Irwin. He married Melinda "Mindy" Charles on June 19, 1999 in Chester, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his father, Larry (Judith Jane) Burton of Bonita Springs, FL; mother, N. Gaye Irwin of Marion; daughter, Ella Eilleen Burton; brother, Brandon Burton of Winthrop Harbor; 2 sisters, Jennifer (Jason) Klingeman of Sparta, Sara Thomas of Chester; and his father in law, Alan R. Kern of Yuma, AZ.

Ryan received a BS in Art Education and two BA's in Arts from S.I.U.C. He worked at Chester Mental Hospital in Chester, taught at Claiborne H.S. in Tazewell, TN and Manual H.S. in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago or Make a Wish Foundation.

A Celebration of Life and Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Timber Lake Club of Peoria at 5501 W. Farmington Road in Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
