BASEBALL: Du Quoin keeps streak going, beats Carterville

Braden Lee gave up just five hits, fanned eleven Carterville batters, and Du Quoin's offense put the game away with six runs in the seventh inning as Post 647 rolled to a 13-1 road win for their tenth straight win to start the 2015 Junior American Legion baseball season.

It was never in doubt - Du Quoin plated four runs in the top of the first with hits from Ashton Smith, Luke Metten, Ryan Myers and Clayton Funk to give B. Lee all the run support he would need.

Post 647 didn't quit tacking on, though, picking up two more runs in the third after a single by Tevin Lee, a triple by Metten, and an RBI from Myers.

Bryce Clarry walked and scored in the fifth following base hits by T. Lee and Metten to make it 7-0 Du Quoin.

Post 647 finished the game with sixteen hits, coming from Smith (1-4, 2B), Clarry (1-4), T. Lee (3-4), Metten (4-4, 3B), Myers (2-4), Funk (2-3, 2B, BB), Jordan Edwards (2-4) and Bryzn Witcher (1-4).

Du Quoin (10-0) will look to continue their unbeaten start to the summer on Thursday at home against Benton.
