Obituary for James "Jim" Carter
James "Jim" W. Carter, 65, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 11:10 pm, Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Chester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chester, Illinois.
He was born to the late Willis and Dolores (nee Wolff) Carter on November 3, 1949 in Chester, Illinois.
He married Patricia G. Mott on October 9, 1984 in Paducah, Kentucky; she survives.
He had been a Supervisor in food service at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois for 22 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a coach for Girls Softball, Boys Baseball, was formerly the Athletic Director at St. Mary's, was on a bowling league and was an avid Cardinal fan.
Survivors include his wife Patti Carter, Chester, IL; six children Tracy (Dan) Colvis, Chester, IL, Jennifer Renee (Aaron) Wilson, Ava, IL, Dana Shepard, Murphysboro, IL, Jennifer Marie (Cole) Schroeder, Chester, IL, Jason (Aislinn) Carter, Chester, IL, Joey (Kara) Carter, Chester, IL; nine grandchildren: Logan Colvis, Karson Colvis, Kaden Wilson, Kanon Wilson, Trenton Shepard, Camille Schroeder, Lincon Schroeder, Roman Carter and Violet Carter.
Preceded in death by his parents and twin brother - Jeffrey Neil Carter.
Visitation Wednesday, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday, 7:30 am - 10:00 am at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois.
Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois. Rev. Ron Coleman officiating.
Internment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Evansville, IL.
