Lawrence R. Paszkiewicz
Mr. Lawrence "Larry" R. Paszkiewicz of Pinckneyville, IL departed this life at his residence in Pinckneyville on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 11:55 P.M. He had attained the age of 67 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Larry was born on April 18, 1948 at Washington County, IL, the son of Walter and Anna (Brink) Paszkiewicz. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Nelson on February 26, 1973 at Troy, MO. They later said vows at St. Edward Church in Fairfield, IL on June 17, 1973. She survives his passing.
Larry was a member of the United States Army Reserve. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL with a degree in Agriculture and he also graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL with his Masters in Extension Education. He began his career with the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service and served in Adams, Wayne, Cumberland, Perry and Washington Counties, retiring after 40 years, in 2010. Larry was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved spending time outdoors and with his dog Jasper.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Bonnie of Pinckneyville, IL; two sons, Scott and his wife Julie of Fort Good Hope, NWT, Canada and Neal and his wife Sara of New Ulm, Minnesota; two daughters, Bekki Kobylanski and her husband John of Sesser, IL and Jessica Sickman and her husband Jeremy of Edwardsville, IL; six grandchildren, Maty and Jaycee Garner, Zach and Thea Paszkiewicz and Brek and Ali Sickman; three brothers, Robert of Belleville, IL, Eugene and Chester both of Nashville, IL; three sisters, Leona Bathon of Pinckneyville, IL, Rose Marie Chandler of O'Fallon, MO and Vivian Price of Lincoln, IL; mother-in-law, Alice Nelson of Mattoon, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Leo Nelson.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 10 A.M. with Fr. Andy Knopik and Fr. Bernard Goedde officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL on Sunday, August 2, 2015, from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Monday from 7:30 A.M. until 9 A.M.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter or St. Ann School and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
