Obituary for Odelia T. Kempfer

<span>Odelia T. Kempfer, (nee Wunderlich), 98, formerly of Dupo, was born March 16, 1917 in Evansville, Ill., and died August 18 at Hospice of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio.</span>

<span>Odelia was a retired clerk from the United States Postal Service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dupo.</span>

<span>Faith and family were everything to Odelia. Her desire in life was to have all of her family members know Him, and to someday celebrate together in heaven.</span>

<span>Her goal was to live each day treating others the way she desired to be treated. She was a Proverbs 31 mother.</span>

<span>Odelia was preceded in death by her husband, Lacie E. Kempfer, her parents, John and Catherine (nee Kline) Wunderlich, her brothers, Raymond, Herald, Vernon, Wilford, Alurban and Eugene Wunderlich and her sister, Leona Wunderlich.</span>

<span>Odelia is survived by her daughters, Della (Rev. Gerald) Phillips of Springfield, Ill., Eva (Bob) Miller of Dayton, Ohio,, and Nadine (Tony) Mahathey of Colorado Springs, Co.</span>

<span>Five grandchildren: Debbie (Russ) Wolf, Mary Ann (Gary) Banks, David Renken, Christopher (Rachel) Hecker and Heidi (David) Smith.</span>

<span>Eighteen great grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, her sister, Beulah Williams of Independence, Mo., and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.</span>

<span>In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The First Baptist Church of Dupo.</span>

<span>Visitation was held on Friday, August 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dupo.</span>

<span>Funeral Service was held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dupo, with Rev. Rick Lay, officiating. Burial was in Ellis Grove Cemetery in Ellis Grove.</span>
