Joseph Bruce McClanahan

Joseph Bruce McClanahan, 74, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:56 P.M., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his residence.

Joe had worked for BICC Cable, formerly Phelps Dodge, for over thirty-five years before retiring. He had been a plant supervisor.

He was born at home on May 10, 1941 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Raymond P. ìJickî and Erma E. (Richerson) McClanahan.

He married Gaye Irene Wright Huddleston on June 7, 1986 at Elkville, IL, and she preceded him in death on September 10, 2013.

He is survived by his children - Kim Pike and husband Clay of Tamaroa and Melody Owens and husband Kevin of Clarkesville, GA, step children - Yvonne Nash and husband Keith of Holcomb, MO, James Sizemore of Murphysboro, Rodney Sizemore and wife Vickie of Du Quoin, Paul D. Sizemore and wife Miriam of China Grove, NC, Donnie Huddleston and wife Nicole of Paducah, KY and Pete Huddleston of Marion, IL, three brothers - Raymond McClanahan and wife Linda of Du Quoin, Terry McClanahan and wife June of Elkville, and Tim McClanahan of Du Quoin, two sisters - Glenna Harrison and husband Roger of Du Quoin and Linda Stewart and husband Tom of Robinson, IL, his mother-in-law - Delcie Wright of Ina, IL, brother-in-law - Wesley Wright and wife Judy of Ina, two sisters-in-law - Edie Edwards and husband Bob of Bethalto, IL and Jean Bell of Ina, eighteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother - Steven K. McClanahan, one grandson and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Pastor Joseph Pike officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
