Prom Dress Sale at DHS Sunday

High fashion recycling happens this weekend when the Du Quoin High School Lady Indian softball team holds a benefit dress sale in the high school's all-purpose gymnasium on Sunday, February 28 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Here's how it works.

Drop off your dress, shoes or silk flowers at the DHS all purpose gymnasium between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, February 26.

It will cost you $5 per dress to display and offer for sale your prom or special occasion dress and $3 for shoes or flowers.

You put a price on the dress and get to keep the money if it sells. Bring as many dresses as you want, but price them reasonably.

That's what this sale is about.

For moms and daughters shopping for a prom dress, you get a dress that was probably worn only once or twice that may have cost $100 to $400 for probably half the price. What a deal!

The Lady Indian Softball team gets to keep the $5 or $3 consignment fee to be used for equipment and travel this spring.

A lot of colors. A lot of lengths--full length or short dresses. A lot of beautiful cuts both front and back.

A lot of style. Some bling. Some very upscale and formal or more comfortable and casual.

The dresses will be nicely displayed on racks with places to try on the dresses nearby.

All for a great cause--the Du Quoin High School Lady Indians softball team.

You can pick up your money (or the dress if it didn't sell) from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. after the sale on Sunday.
