ST. PATTY'S PARTY

<span>Kaskaskia VFW Post 3553 in Chester will have an event on Saturday, March 12, starting at 4 p.m.</span>

<span>Patrons are encouraged to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a performance of Mary's River Band starting at 7 p.m.</span>

<span>Killian's and Blue Moon will be on tap, with $1 pudding shots and free beads. The kitchen will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and feature corned beef and cabbage and reuben sandwiches.</span>

BENEFIT DINNER

<span>On Saturday, March 12, the Evansville American Legion will have a benefit chicken dinner for Gaven Simpson-Goddard from 1 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.</span>

<span>On Jan. 14, Gaven and his mother, Jamie, were involved in a car accident that required Gaven to have emergency brain surgery.</span>

<span>All proceeds from the event go to help the family with expenses incurred following the accident.</span>

<span>Live music will be provided by Scattergun Jack from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. A silent auction, bake sale and 50/50 will also be available.</span>

<span>Raffle tickets ($1 each or six for $5) for a Barrel of Booze will be sold. Entry for the dinner will be $8 for adults and $6 for children.</span>

<span>Entry for the music will be $5 per person and $8 per couple.</span>
