Du Quoin and Pinckneyville egg hunts Saturday

<pre class="aLF-aPX-K0-aPE aLF-aPX-aLK-ayr-auR">The Du Quoin community Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

The hunt is sponsored by the Du Quoin Jaycees, the Du Quoin Volunteer Foundation and the Preceptor Alpha Eta sorority chapter.

The egg hunt will be held north of the labor pavilion and will be moved inside in case of rain. If you have questions, please call Jim Dimitroff at 318-1629.

The free youth tournament fishing tournament will be held on Saturday, June 4 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds for three age groups: 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12.

Trophies will be awarded in all age groups. Door prizes will be given away.

Bait will be provided.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. on that day and fishing is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Youth fishing is sponsored by the Jaycees and the Du Quoin Foundation. Please provide your own fishing equipment, if possible. The Jaycees can provide a limited amount of equipment to youth fishermen. Call Jim Dimitroff at 318-1629 or Nancy Lee at 571-4642 for more information.

The Pinckneyville Optimist Club will again sponsor the annual Easter egg hunt for youngsters, ages 2 through 8 at the Pinckneyville Fairgrounds southwest of the grandstand. Parents and participants are reminded that the hunt will take place starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 26.

Eager hunters will be searching for candy eggs, plastic eggs with candy and other surprises.

Bicycles will also be given away to lucky youngsters for each age group. The hunting areas will be separated into three sections: one for ages 2 -- 3, one for ages 4 -- 5, and one for ages 6 - 8.

This year the Easter Bunny is expected to be present and available for pictures with the kids. Participants are encouraged to arrive early as the hunt will start exactly at 10 a.m.</pre>
