CHS BOE tables Goodman, Gass contracts
During a special session last Thursday, the Chester District 139 Board of Education decided to table the new contract agreements with two administrators.
On the agenda was to approve a one-year deal with Chester High School Principal Dr. Sarah Gass for the 2016-17 school year, while Interim Superintendent Rick Goodman's contract is for three years and concludes with the end of the 2018-19 school year.
"There's a couple minor language issues that we need to get straightened up," Goodman said. "(The board) will redo them and I'll send both contracts to the attorney (Barney Mundorf) and get his opinion and after that, I will forward them to the school board for them to look at and we'll plan on approving those at the April regular meeting."
The remainder of the agenda featured mainly housekeeping items. The board approved St. John Lutheran School's request of the CHS track complex and a base bid of $829,800 from Fager McGee Construction for the high school science labs renovation.
The board also approved Stan Myers and Chad Koenegstein as CHS volunteer track coaches and Angela Luthy was approved as a special education paraprofessional beginning April 1.
The next regular meeting of the Chester BOE is scheduled for April 21 at 7 p.m.
