Farmer's Market moves to Welcome Center

Chester's Farmer's Market begins Saturday in a new location, one that will provide more parking and greater visibility for vendors.

After previous locations on the corner of the three-way stop and the Chester Square Gazebo Park - along with an experiment in the Hardee's parking lot - the market has moved to the Chester Welcome Center.

"I think it's going to be a lot more traffic and a lot more parking for everybody," said Coordinator Dave Eggemeyer. "Easier access for everybody."

As usual, the market will be open from 7 a.m. until sold out.

"It's just going to be a few vendors to start as there's not much produce yet," Eggemeyer said. "It will pick up as the season goes along."

If anyone wishes to be a vendor, they can contact Eggemeyer at 618-708-2753.
