Good things come to those who wait. According to Linda Quillman, Christopher Rural Health Planning Corporation compliance officer, the tenacious efforts over the past several years to secure funding to assist in construction of a new REA Clinic in Du Quoin have paid off.

CRHPC has been awarded a $1 million grant by Health Resources and Services Administration. Application for this funding was originally made in 2015 through the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act 2015 Health Infrastructure Invest Program. Earlier this month CRHPC was advised funding has been approved.

The design for the 9,500 square foot building has been finalized and will replace the current clinic on Gas Plant Road. It will accommodate up to six healthcare providers. The timeline for completion of the project is also being prepared. The new clinic to be located on the Bridal Originals property on Rt. 51 south of Du Quoin should be expected by August 2017.
