Steeleville man injured in I-57 wreck
<p dir="ltr"><span>A 20-year-old Steeleville man was injured in a single-vehicle crash in the early morning hours of Monday.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>According to the Illinois State Police, Johnathon L. Cobb was driving a black 2012 Chevrolet pickup truck south on Interstate 57 near milepost 58 in Williamson County.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The vehicle drifted off the roadway to the right, went down a steep embankment and struck a tree head-on.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>Cobb sustained major injuries in the crash and his truck suffered major damage. Cobb was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion and then airlifted to a St. Louis-area hospital.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The ISP's report states fatigued driving may have contributed to the cause of the accident, which was reported at 12:38 a.m. Charges are pending further investigation of the incident.</span>
