Pinckneyville man stopped on highway for funeral procession hit from behind on Rt. 150
A Pinckneyville man whose vehicle had slowed along Rt 150 and pulled over out of respect to allow a funeral procession to pass was rear-ended in a June 4 accident, according to Randolph County authorities.
Authorities say Justin Thies of Pinckneyville was driving a 2009 Mercury and parked along the roadway for a funeral procession driving in the opposite direction. He was rear-ended by a 2010 GMC Arcadia driven by Robert Hiller of Steeleville. Hiller was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
