Juvenile arrested after chase
<p dir="ltr"><span>A 16-year-old male juvenile, of Percy, was arrested in Percy on Sunday after leading law enforcement on both a vehicle and foot chase.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>According to a news release from Percy Police Department Chief David L. Nellis, at 5:04 p.m. officers with the PPD located a stolen vehicle - a Jeep Grand Cherokee - from Effingham County parked at a residence in Percy.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>After law enforcement made contact with the homeowners, the juvenile suspect allegedly resisted arrest and fled from the scene in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered on Streamline Road south of Blackstump Road.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The juvenile was later found by Illinois State Police troopers, resulting in a second foot pursuit on Blackstump. The unnamed juvenile was apprehended and arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and driving with no valid driver's license.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The juvenile was transported to the Randolph County Jail and then to the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Home in Belleville.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The ISP, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Randolph County Sheriff's Department, Steeleville Police Department and Sparta Police Department assisted in locating the juvenile.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation by the PPD, RCSO and the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.</span>
