Prairie du Rocher resident injured in crash

<p class="p1">A 39-year-old Prairie du Rocher resident had to be extricated from her vehicle following a single-vehicle crash on State Route 155 on Monday night.

<p class="p1">According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office crash report, Christina Gordillo was traveling south on State Route 155 a quarter of a mile northeast of Common School Road when the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe she was driving exited the right side of the road.

<p class="p1">The Santa Fe traveled 216 feet through the ditch until it struck a culvert. The vehicle then travelled another 216 feet, overturning several times, before coming to rest on its passenger side facing east.

<p class="p1">Gordillo was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted by ARCH to St. Louis University Hospital. SLU Spokesman Jason Merrill told the Herald Tribune that Gordillo was released by the hospital on Tuesday.

<p class="p1">The accident was reported at 9:37 p.m. with Deputy Chris Hewitt. Gordillo was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
