Chester woman injured in ATV rollover

<p dir="ltr"><span>ROCKWOOD -- A 29-year-old Chester woman was seriously injured in an ATV rollover at the Rutt Racing Track Facility north of Rockwood on Saturday.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Candice Gaertner was ejected from the machine along the track about a quarter of a mile south of the main entrance.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>She was transported to Chester Memorial Hospital via MedStar Ambulance and later airlifted to a regional hospital. Sheriff Shannon Wolff stated he did not know which hospital.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>Wolff said that his office received a 911 cell phone call at 1:39 p.m. advising that a female subject had rolled an ATV in the woods.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>The Chester Fire Department was paged five minutes later to assist MedStar.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>Riders at the scene told the Herald Tribune they were making their way back toward the entrance on their ATVs when they heard a scream and a crash. They did not witness the accident themselves.</span>
