Jackson County deputies make Murphysboro arrests

<p dir="ltr"><span>Two rural Murphysboro residents were arrested Sunday on offenses of aggravated battery and mob action after an early-morning search.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>According to a Jackson County Sheriff's Office news release, deputies received information around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night regarding a battery involving dangerous weapons that occurred at 56 Hoover Road.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>While investigating the incident, deputies learned 21-year-old Billy Jack Reed and 23-year-old Dakota Digby attacked the victim - whose name was not released - using a taser/stun gun and a knife.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>Deputies obtained arrest warrants for the pair, as well as a search warrant on their residence. At 7 a.m. Sunday, deputies executed the search warrant and located Reed and Digby inside the residence.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>The release states law enforcement did recover a taser/stun gun and a knife from the residence.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>Both Reed and Digby were transported to Jackson County Jail, where they are incarcerated on $50,000 bonds.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>The Jackson County State's Attorney's Office also assisted in the investigation.</span>
