According to a preliminary report released by the Illinois State Police, Jessie L. Robison was traveling northbound on Baldwin Road in a 2000 Buick Century when - for unspecified reasons - the vehicle crossed over the southbound lane, ran off the roadway and struck a culvert.

"From what I was told from my deputies, he was combative when they tried to remove him from the vehicle," said Randolph County Sheriff Shannon Wolff.

Jason Merrill, public relations manager with SLU, told the Herald Tribune on Thursday that Robison was in "good" condition.
