Obituary for James I. Brockmeyer
OFFICER JAMES I. BROCKMEYER, 22, of Chester, Illinois, passed away 11:20 pm, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
He was born to Donald and Dixie (nee Bowen) Brockmeyer on April 30, 1994 in Chester, Illinois.
He had been a police office for the Chester Police Department for 10 months.
Before joining the police department, he had worked for the City of Chester in the Gas Department. He also had worked part-time for Derek's Lawn Service in Chester.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, Illinois and Randolph County Rod and Gun Club. He was also a volunteer fireman for Chester Fire Department.
He graduated from Chester High School in 2012. During High School, he played football, basketball and baseball.
Survivors include his parents Donald and Dixie Brockmeyer, Chester; Maternal Grandmother Joleen Bowen, Chester; one sister - Megan Brockmeyer, Chester; Fiancée Lauren Hoops, Chester; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his brothers of law enforcement and firefighting.
Preceded in death by: Maternal grandfather - Bobbie Bowen; paternal grandparents - Irwin and Iva Brockmeyer and one cousin - Bob Bowen
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Chester High School - Colbert Memorial Gymnasium, Chester, Illinois with the Rev. Tim Sims officiating.
Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Chester, Illinois.
Visitation Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 3:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Chester High School - Colbert Memorial Gymnasium, Chester, Illinois.
