Percy juvenile uninjured in accident

A 16-year-old Percy juvenile was not injured in a single-vehicle accident last Saturday on Union School Road north of Denise Road in rural Ava.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the juvenile was driving a 2006 Ford Explorer northbound on Union School Road when the vehicle encountered a patch of ice.

The juvenile lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway on the left side and struck a ditch, overturning onto its passenger side. The unnamed juvenile was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident was reported at 3:56 p.m., with the Jackson County Ambulance Service and Ava Fire Department responding to the scene.
