Chester City Council approves new road name
<span style="font-weight: 400;">In a short meeting on Monday, the Chester City Council approved the naming of the entrance road at the Chester Country Club.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The road, which leads from State Route 3 to the parking lot, will now become known as "The Longest Drive."</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The council's only other matter of new business was approving an agreement with Chester Sports Inc. to conduct the concessions at the Cohen Complex from March 1 to July 31.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The contract is the same as last year and was approved.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">In other action, the council approved the payment of bills in the amount of $89,645.99 and a water bill adjustment for 1846 Swanwick Street after a water leak was discovered.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Alderman Russ Rader said the homeowner reported a bill of $802, which will be adjusted down to $521.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The council also approved raffle licenses for the Chester Moose, St. John Lutheran and the country club. Chester Mayor Tom Page also congratulated City Clerk Bethany Berner on the recent birth of her daughter, Braylee Taylor Berner.</span>
