Pinckneyville man fatally injured in two-car wreck
<span style="font-weight: 400;">A 25-year-old Pinckneyville man, Brian A. Scholebo, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning on State Route 154, a half-mile east of Rose of Sharon Road.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">According to the Illinois State Police's preliminary report, Scholebo was driving a 2015 Dodge Dart eastbound on Route 154. A 2011 Mitsubishi Galant, driven by 39-year-old Michael A. Gibson, of Sparta, was headed westbound.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The Dart, for an unknown reason, crossed the centerline and struck the Galant head on. Gibson received major injuries in the accident and was airlifted to a regional hospital.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Traffic in the area was diverted off of Route 154 at Route 150 to the west of the scene and at the roundabout west of Pinckneyville to the east. The roadway was closed for nearly four hours for investigation and cleanup, reopening at 11:15 a.m.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">An ISP traffic crash reconstructionist unit is conducting further investigation of the accident, which was reported at 7:18 a.m. The ISP stated that no additional information will be released at this time.</span>
