Lady Indians take first place at Hamilton County Invite

The Lady Indians won their third meet in a row Tuesday evening, breaking six meet records and winning 10 out of 18 events at the Hamilton County Invite, totaling 172 points to outpace second-place finisher Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton who finished with 159. <br />Breaking meet records at the Hamilton County Invite were Tarynn Mays in the triple jump with a distance of 36'10"; Gabby Alongi in the 800-meter and 1600-meter run with times of 2:27 and 5:45, respectively; Madison Davis in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.4 seconds; the 3200-meter relay team (consisting of Alongi, Andrea Lopez, Kate Smith and Quinn Kirkpatrick) with a time of 10:47 and the 400-meter relay team (consisting of Mays, Baily Harsy, Davis and Hannah Baxter) with a time of 51.48 seconds. <br />Other first place finishers were Mays in the long jump (15'6"), Mishka Monroe in the shot put (30'9"), Kirkpatrick in the pole vault (7'3") and the 800-meter relay team (consisting of Baxter, Rylea McDonald, Skye Westerhouse and Harsy) with a time of 1:57. <br />Other team finishes at the invite were Carmi White County (87 points), Sesser-Valier/Waltonville (62), Hamilton County (40) and Eldorado (20). <br />The Lady Indians track & field squad will look to extend its team winning streak to four when they resume action at Carterville, with field events scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
