Du Quoin officers to be honored for saving baby

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_118_252" tabindex="0">Three local law enforcement personnel will be honored Monday for their quick work in saving the life of a Du Quoin infant in February.</span><br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_253_519" tabindex="0">Du Quoin Police Chief Jamie Ellermeyer says Officers Chris Robinson and Cale Bastien, along with Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Howard Baxter, will be recognized at Monday's meeting of the Du Quoin City Council for their quick actions the afternoon of Feb. 5.</span><br /> Around 1:45 p.m. that day, Robinson and Bastien responded to 645 W. Park St. in Du Quoin and found a month-and-a half-old baby that was not breathing.<br /> The officers were informed that the ambulance would be coming from the Pinckneyville area, so Robinson took control of the infant and performed CPR while Bastien transported Robinson and the infant to Marshall Browning Hospital.<br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_900_960" tabindex="0">Monday's meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Du Quoin City Hall.</span></span></span>
