Steeleville man injured in motorcycle accident

<span style="font-weight: 400;">A 53-year-old Steeleville man was airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital after a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Wednesday.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Mark J. Mifflin was traveling eastbound on State Route 150 east of the intersection with Paradise Road when the 2015 Triumph Thunderbird he was driving ran off the right side of the road.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">The motorcycle continued eastward along the roadway before entering a ditch and striking the embankment/culvert area of the Paradise Cemetery entrance road.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">The motorcycle then became airborne and traveled approximately 26 feet before coming to rest lying on its side facing southwest on the cemetery entrance road.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Mifflin, who was ejected from the machine, was found sitting up 15 feet past the motorcycle. The Steeleville Fire Department also responded to the scene of the accident, which was reported at 9:05 p.m.</span>

Jason Merril, spokesman for SLU,&#160;reported Thursday morning that Mifflin was listed in fair condition.
