<li><strong> Steeleville 5, Valmeyer 3</strong></li>
</ul>
VALMEYER -- Mackenzie Pim went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Steeleville held off a challenge from Valmeyer to win its Cahokia Conference Kaskaskia Division opener on April 4.
AnnaBeth Batson also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Lady Warriors, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings, only to see Valmeyer rally with three runs in the bottom of the third.
But that's all the offense the Lady Pirates (2-5, 0-2) would get as Steeleville (11-1, 1-0) added an insurance run in the fifth.
Sydnie Furman got the win in the circle for Steeleville, allowing all three runs (one earned) on five hits with six strikeouts. Josie Raby (2-3) and Sydney Hood (2-4) also had multiple hits for the Lady Warriors.

<li><strong> Chester 8, Vienna 6</strong></li>
</ul>
VIENNA -- Kaylee James drove in the eventual game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning, and Chester swept Vienna in an extra-inning contest on April 6.
Miah Mitchell and Carlee Weir both homered for the Lady Yellow Jackets (3-2, 2-0 BDC West), who trailed 5-2 heading to the third after Vienna scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning.
The Lady Eagles led 6-3 in the fourth, but Chester scored one run in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to force extra innings.
James finished 2-for-5 for Chester, while Emily Tudor went 2-5 with a triple and an RBI. Logan Colvis got the win in relief for the Lady Yellow Jackets, allowing only two hits in six innings pitched.
In a three-inning JV game after the contest, Chester won 11-0.

<li><strong>Chester 9, Elverado 4</strong></li>
</ul>
CHESTER -- Kaitlyn Dillow went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, while Kaylee James went 3-for-3 and drove in a run, leading Chester to a win over Elverado on Monday.
Logan Colvis (2-4), Miah Mitchell (2-4) and Shea Petrowske (1-2) all each drove in a run for the Lady Yellow Jackets (4-2), who responded to a 2-1 deficit by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

<li><strong> Chester 5, Waterloo 4</strong></li>
</ul>
WATERLOO -- Grace Stec went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Karson Colvis and Taryn Baker also drove in runs as the Chester JV beat Waterloo on April 7.
Chester (2-2) scored all its runs in the first inning, with Waterloo scoring a single run in the second and three more in the third. The game was called after six innings due to darkness.

CHESTER -- A late-game comeback fell short, as Chester dropped its fifth straight game with a loss to Vienna on April 4.
Curt Meyer went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and also took the loss on the mound, for the Yellow Jackets, who trailed 8-3 going into the bottom of the sixth inning.
Chester plated three runs to pull within two at 8-6, and scored another run in the bottom of the seventh before Vienna was able to get the final out.
Ethan Bert went 1-for-4 with an RBI for the Yellow Jackets (2-10, 0-2 BDC West), while Brennan White (2-4, RS) and Ethen Eggemeyer (2-3, RS) contributed multiple hits.

<li><strong> Valmeyer 6, Steeleville 3</strong></li>
</ul>
VALMEYER -- Easton Wallace went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Cole Juelfs went 2-for-4, leading Valmeyer to a win over Steeleville on April 4.
The Pirates (7-3, 2-0 Kaskaskia Division) led 3-1 after two innings, but Steeleville tied it with two runs in the top of the fourth. Valmeyer countered with a pair of runs in their half of the inning and added an insurance run in the fifth.
Josh Ryder went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Steeleville (3-3, 0-1), which committed four errors in the loss.

<li><strong> Steeleville 4, New Athens 2</strong></li>
</ul>
STEELEVILLE -- R.J. Smith went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Bradley Mevert also had a double as Steeleville beat New Athens on April 6.
The Warriors (4-3, 1-1 Kaskaskia Division) responded to a 1-0 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the third. Smith (2-0) picked up the win for Steeleville, allowing one earned run on six hits with five walks and four strikeouts.
Eli Wittenborn pitched the final two innings to earn the save.

<li><strong> Vienna 8, Chester 4</strong></li>
</ul>
VIENNA -- Curt Meyer went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Brady Kelkhoff went 1-for-4 with an RBI, but Chester couldn't make a four-run lead stand up in a loss to Vienna on April 6.
Trailing 4-0 after three and a half innings, Vienna scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game. The Eagles added three runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth for the final score.
Chester (2-11, 0-2 BDC West) committed four errors in the loss, but outhit Vienna 6-4. Freshman Ethen Eggemeyer took the loss on the mound for the Yellow Jackets, who lost their sixth straight game.
<strong>Pinckneyville Round Robin</strong>
PINCKNEYVILLE -- Chester dropped its first game to Massac County, 11-5, but rallied to beat host Pinckneyville, 12-11, in nine innings on April 8 in a round robin contest.
The Yellow Jackets (3-12), committed eight errors in the loss to the Patriots and had a 5-4 lead going into the top of the fifth before falling apart in the sixth.
Matt Smith went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in the loss, while Brady Kelkhoff went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Daltyn Korando took the loss for the Yellow Jackets.
In the nightcap against the Panthers, Chester trailed 11-2 going into the bottom of the sixth. The Yellow Jackets scored three runs in the bottom of the inning and added six more in the seventh to tie the game.
After a scoreless eighth, Chester loaded the bases in the ninth and got the winner on a Kelkhoff single that scored Curt Meyer from third.
Yellow Jacket freshman Ethan Bert went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Kelkhoff was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Brennan White (2-4, 4 RBI), Calvin Clendenin (2-4, 3 RS), Matt Smith (1-4, 2 RBI), and Curt Meyer (1-4, 3 RS, 2 RBI) also had hits for Chester.
Bert also got the win on the mound for the Yellow Jackets in pitching the final two innings.

CHESTER -- Brady Kelkhoff went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Chester jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings in a win over Elverado on Monday.
Brennan White (2-3, 2RS, 2B, RBI) and Curt Meyer (2-4, 2RS, RBI) also had multiple hits for the Yellow Jackets (4-12), who banged out 13 total.
Clay Herrell (1-1, 2BI), Ethen Eggemeyer (1-4, RS, 3B, RBI) and Daltyn Korando (1-2, RBI) also drove in runs for Chester.

<li><strong>Trico 2, Steeleville 1</strong></li>
</ul>
STEELEVILLE -- In a game that was short of offense, Trico scored both its runs in the top of the seventh inning to steal a win from Steeleville on Monday.
The Warriors (4-4) led 1-0 after scoring a run in the bottom of the second. The teams combined for just five hits.
