Arthur W. Kearney of Elkville
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_3_120" tabindex="0">Arthur W. Kearney, 87, of Elkville passed away at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.</span><br /> Arthur had been a machinist at Eureka Company. He was a life member of Assembly of God Church. He was a member of Machinist Lodge No. 1000. Arthur enjoyed fishing, Nascar and spending time with his grandchildren.<br /> He was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Shelby County, the son of James Arthur and Bess (Rider) Kearney.<br /> He married Dorothy Tow Oct. 13, 1977, in Palmyra, Mo., and she preceded him in death.<br /> He is survived by four grandchildren, Jerry "Jay" Seibert Jr. of Sesser, Dwayne Seibert and Ashley Misner, Drew Seibert and Jeri Lynn Huck, and Stephanie Hawk and husband Bill, all of Elkville; daughter-in-law Rosemary Seibert of Elkville; sister Betty Fisher of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; brothers-in-law Bill Rezinas of Shelbyville and Virgil Tow and wife Mary of St. Louis; sister-in-law Rosa Tow of Elkville; great grandchildren Buddy Seibert and Jami Jo, John Seibert, Bristol Seibert, Mylee Misner, Owen Misner, Holden Seibert, Kyle Waller, Marisa Waller, Brooklyn Slatton and Coty, Taylor Hawk, Tyler Hawk, Hudson Hawk and Emersyn Hawk; six great-great-grandchildren; special nephew Vern Foster and wife Barb of Morris; special aunt Marjorie Kearney of Shelbyville; friend Paul Schweizer of McLean; and numerous nieces and nephews.<br /> He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Jerry Seibert; two sisters, Trena Rezinas and Geraldine Mueller; and brother-in-law Earl Fisher.<br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1507_1643" tabindex="0">Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Elkville Cemetery in Elkville with the Rev. Josh Wehrmeier officiating.</span><br /> Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.<br /> Burial will be at Elkville Cemetery in Elkville.<br /> Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
