Crosby to participate in Camp College

Chester High School incoming senior Melissa Crosby has been selected to participate in Camp College from July 11 to 14.

Camp College, a program of the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling, provides rising seniors the unique opportunity to learn about the college search and application process firsthand.

Crosby is one of only 40 students selected among all upcoming seniors throughout the state. The application process included an application and essay, along with written recommendations from the high school and a transcript.

During the week, Crosby will visit three colleges and universities and experience living in the dorms, enjoying meals and participating in leadership activities on the campuses of Southern Illinois University, Saint Louis University and Blackburn College.

Awardees will also be paired with a counselor-mentor who they retain throughout their senior year in high school.
