Ellis Grove supports Pinckneyville to Waterloo four-lane highway

The Village of Ellis Grove has thrown its support behind a four-lane highway proposal, joining a growing list of cities and villages that have signed an intergovernmental cooperation agreement to back the project.

The Chester City Council also signed the resolution expressing support for the Pinckneyville-to-Waterloo highway during its meeting on July 17.

In other news, the Ellis Grove Village Board approved an intergovernmental cooperation contract with the Illinois Municipal League. The original contract had been modified to meet changes in insurance, pool operations and state statutes, and the annual insurance update required an ordinance to be passed.
