More details emerge as Chester prepares for eclipse

The City of Chester continues to make preparations for the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse, with camping at Cole Park and an official viewing location at the Cohen Complex.

The city will have food vendors, crafts and other activities before, during and after the eclipse at the Cohen Complex. Parking spots are available for $10 per car, $25 per bus and VIP pass for $40. To reserve a space, contact Chester Recreation Director Patti Carter at 618-826-1430.

Self-contained camping is available at Cole Park, with both campers and tent spaces available. Those interested can contact Carter at the phone number stated above. Many different groups in the city have different events planned, a full list of which is available at chestereclipse.com.
