Five questions with ... Collin Basham of Marion

Q. Marion celebrates veterans with a parade Saturday. Do you think the U.S. does enough to honor and care for veterans?

Basham: I think it is great to receive that honor locally, but I believe there is a lot of room for improvement. Our veterans shouldn't be without work or shelter. Anyone brave enough to fight for our country shouldn't have to worry about being unemployed or homeless.

Q. Do you know how to play a musical instrument?

Basham: I do not play any instruments, but I have always wanted to learn the harmonica. It's small enough to fit in your pocket and you can quickly play it anywhere.

Q. When you watch a movie on TV or at the theater, do you prefer a comedy or drama, and why?

Basham: I would definitely prefer comedy. Everyone needs a good laugh.

Q. Are you a big breakfast eater or do you eat light in the mornings, if at all?

Basham: I eat ramen noodles every morning for breakfast. They're quick, easy and cheap.

Q. What activity gives you the most enjoyment away from the workplace?

Basham: Away from the workplace, hunting and fishing give me the most enjoyment.
