4-H to hold flag retirement ceremony

The University of Illinois Extension, Jackson County 4-H is hosting a flag retirement ceremony Oct. 19.

The ceremony will take place starting at 6 p.m. near the Jackson County Extension Barn, located at 402 Ava Rd. in Murphysboro.

Area residents are invited to bring their worn flags for proper retirement. Those who cannot attend the ceremony but have a flag to retire can drop it off at the Jackson County Extension Office or Five Rings Armory, located at 900 W. Sycamore St. in Carbondale.
