Eleven Du Quoin High School students have been named Illinois State Scholars this year. The State Scholar Program recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement. Approximately the top 10 percent of graduates from approved high schools are announced as State Scholars each year. This year's honorees from Du Quoin include (front row, left to right) Madeline Halstead, Summer Tucker, Delainey File, Allie Melvin, Emily Hamburger, Hope Stewart, (back row) Nate Manning, Dawson McRoberts, Paxton Higgerson, Brogan Smith and Hank Stewart.
