COSLHS archery enjoys first season of competition
Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School's ten archers have been enjoying their first year of NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) competition.
It has been a great experience traveling to competition tournaments and seeing 50 archers on the line at a time. NASP bull's-eye tournaments shoot 3 rounds at 10 meters and 3 rounds at 15 meters.
Archers shoot 5 arrows per round for a total of 30 arrows scored per tournament.
Most of the school's NASP tournament opportunities have been in Missouri since the majority of Illinois NASP tournaments are in the northern part of the state.
Christ Our Savior is looking to change that by hosting more NASP tournaments in southern Illinois to provide more shooting opportunities for participating area schools. The first tournament is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. March 17 in the COSLHS gym.
