James Willie Wells of Marion

MARION - James Willie Wells, 78, of Marion, formerly of Southern Georgia, passed away at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Aug. 20, 1939 to Dock Campbell and Marie (Josey) Wells in Colquitt, Georgia.

James proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the Air Force, where he served for 20 years.

Upon retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 19 years.

James is survived by two children, Frank C. Wells of Phoenix and Cynthia (Shaun) Sullivan of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandson, Dustin Wells of Phoenix; granddaughters, Isabella, Alexis and Emilia Sullivan, all of Warner Robins, Georgia; loving friend, Kimberly Wells, of Marion; and a loving pom, Taiho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Iona Duke.

Per his wishes, cremation will be accorded. The family will host a memorial service at a later date. Crain Funeral Home, Egyptian Chapel in Energy, is in charge of arrangements.
