Pinckneyville will oil and chip streets next week
With summer comes the yearly oil and chipping of Pinckneyville streets, and weather permitting, it will be done next week on July 2, 3 and 5.
The following streets will be oil and chipped:
• Indian Trail, from Mildred Drive to the end
• Indian Trail, from Prince Drive to the cul de sac
• Dalmatian Road, from the south city limits to Wilson Street
• Unicorn Road, from Illinois Route 13/127 to Dalmatian Road
• West Brown Street, from South Main to South Douglas
• West Grand Street, from South Main to Douglas
• West Ozburn Street, from South Main to South Douglas)
• Mill Street, from West Parker to South Douglas
• West Chester Street, from South Walnut to Mill Street
• Duckworth Street, from West South Street to West Kaskaskia
• Mason Street, from West South Street to Railroad Street
• South Douglas Street, from West Mulberry to Brown Street
• West Roe Street, from South Main Street to South Douglas
• West Kaskaskia Street, from South Main to South Grant
• West South Street, from South Main to South Grant
• West Randolph Street, from South Main to South Mill
• West Randolph Street, from South Grant to Fallon
• Fallon Street, from West Randolph to West Water
• West St. Louis Street, from South Walnut to the end
• West Mulberry Street, from South Main to South Grant
• South Perry Street, from West Water to West Grand.
In other business, the city council is expected to vote July 9 on a mowing contract between the city and James L. Heller and Scott E. Heller, doing business as J&S Services. J&S Services will be contracted to mow several properties for the City: The lot at 101 N. Walnut St., the former site of the Pinckneyville Community Hospital; 108 Hawkins St.; designated right of ways within the Imperial Heights Subdivision and the Cedar Pointe Subdivision; and designated right of ways along intersection of Illinois Route 154 and Blue Bunting Road near the Pinckneyville Correctional Center.
According to the proposal, J&S Services will mow the areas for the remainder of 2018 and for 2019 at a cost of $6,555.
