Learning about lavender Garden Study Club enjoys presentation on plant's many uses

ELDORADO - On July 19, the Eldorado Garden Study Club enjoyed a presentation on the many uses of lavender by Brenda Clanton of Wildwood Manor in Elizabethtown.

She shared that while we commonly think of using lavender for its pleasant and calming aroma, it can also be used for many personal care lotions, oils and soaps; for medicinal purposes; and, for cooking and making drinks.

Club members enjoyed being able to shop, choosing from a variety of items made with lavender by Clanton. The group also enjoyed cookies made with lavender as well as cold lavender lemonade.

The Eldorado club is affiliated with the National Garden Clubs and the Garden Clubs of Illinois.
