Runners turn out to help raise money for Addy
DU QUOIN - A Saturday morning rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of friends and family of 4-year-old Adelyn "Addy" Jones of Du Quoin as runners lined up for a 5K run and walk at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.
The fundraiser run for Jones was entitled, "Princess Addy's Army Race Against Childhood Cancer."
Jones was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2017. Her "Army" of supporters now has set out to help other families whose children have cancer with fundraising events like Saturday's 5K run and walk. There was also a fun run for kids. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society.
