Legion Auxiliary to meet on Nov. 12

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 487 will meet Nov. 12 following the Veterans Day service, which will be held at 11 a.m. at the Legion Post.

President Ellen Kautz will conduct the business meeting immediately following the lunch, which will be served following the annual program. The auxiliary will be decorating two of the "Adopt- A-Pots" for the annual Christmas Walk. The ALA's pots will be placed at the entrance to the Chester Gazebo and will feature a patriotic décor. Members should also bring a donation of Kleenex to be distributed to the Chester schools.

The ALA annual Christmas party will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 and members are encouraged to attend and bring a dish to share for the Potluck meal.

Beginning with the Jan. 14, 2019, meeting, all future meetings will start at 5:30 p.m. and dessert will be served after adjournment. President Kautz encourages members to pay their dues prior to Dec. 31. Dues are currently $25 for senior members and $4 for junior members. Dues notices should have already been received by senior members but junior members do not receive a printed notice. The Chester Unit would welcome new members.
