JALC plans eight new ag courses for next fall
John A. Logan College has been working for years on an agriculture program, and that hard work has produced results. Beginning next fall, students can enroll in eight new agriculture courses and three degree programs.
Newly hired agriculture instructor Dr. Wayne Griffith has been meeting with prospective students and promoting the program across the area. Griffith spent the past 20 years teaching agriculture to students at Marion High School.
"I can't say enough about all of the people from the administration and staff to the faculty who have helped me prepare and answered my questions," he said. "They have been nothing but enthusiastic and supportive."
Griffith said that the focus the first year will be students who want to transfer to four-year universities.
After that, the work will begin on preparing a two-year zprogram designed for students wanting to enter an agriculture-related field after completing their work at John A. Logan.
