DMS Builders Club delivers checks to Five Star Industries, Gold Plate

Du Quoin Middle School students in the Builders Club presented a check in the amount of $100 to the Gold Plate senior center in Du Quoin last week for craft supplies. DU QUOIN - The top sellers of the Du Quoin Middle School Builders Club last Tuesday presented a $400 check to Five Star Industries for their clients' wishing well fund.

Club sponsor Laura Krone said the wishing well fund is for clients to make personal purchases this holiday season.

"This will give them a bit of spending money for their needs," she said. "We also delivered a $100 check to Gold Plate (senior services). The seniors get together to make crafts and this money will help them buy more supplies."

Krone said she and club members were treated to some delicious brownies when they visited the center.

"Thank you to all club members and their families for helping with the Avon fundraiser that allowed us to raise money for these community members."
