Night's Shield announces new director
The Night's Shield in West Frankfort has announced several changes to its staff.
Outgoing executive director Lindsey Yordy has accepted a position at the John A. Logan College Child Resource Center in Carterville. Dane Johns will be the new executive director of The Night's Shield.
Johns has been at The Night's Shield for 10 years, most recently in the role of family advocate for crisis program. During the previous nine years, he was shift supervisor and then case manager.
Also, Lindsay Schroeder will be the new family and youth services program director. Schroeder brings over a decade of mental health social services experience to The Night's Shield, having previously worked at the Gateway Foundation and Centerstone.
The Night's Shield is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides a children's crisis shelter program that serves families from all over the state of Illinois. The shelter is a temporary emergency child care shelter that provides short-term care for children ages birth to 18, or for families who are experiencing a severe crisis. The Night's Shield provides intervention, community-based resource referrals, and support to families for their re-stabilization and empowerment.
