CCHS Science Team is headed to state

For the third time since it's creation four years ago, the Carbondale Community High School Science Team will be headed to state finals at the University of Illinois.

On March 9, students competed in the Illinois Science Olympiad sectionals held at Lindenwood University in Belleville. The team placed second overall, and every student placed in one or more science events.

Events range anywhere from biology, chemistry and physics to zoology, herpetology and robotics.

State finals will be held April 13, and CCHS is the only team from southern Illinois competing this year at the University of Illinois.
