Panthers Nine struggling at midseason point

PINCKNEYVILLE - The PCHS baseball squad has found itself on the short end of most games this spring.

With about a dozen games remaining, the Panthers stand 2-11 overall, 1-4 in the Mississippi Division of the River to River Conference. On Monday of this week, the boys in blue fell to Du Quoin, 4-1, and then on Tuesday, lost to Anna-Jonesboro, 9-2.

PCHS hosts league rival, Carterville, Monday in a game set for 4:30 p.m. The Panthers will then hit the road Wednesday for a nonconference match at Red Bud, Thursday game at New Athens and Saturday contest at Woodlawn.

After yet another road game on Monday, April 29 at Steeleville, the Panthers finally return to the home field on May 1 against Murphysboro.
