American Legion hosts Memorial Day service in Pinckneyville

PINCKNEYVILLE - Daffron-Presswood American Legion Post 2504 hosted the annual Memorial Day service in the Pinckneyville city cemetery on Monday, May 27.

The service included a message by Rev. Don Meeks, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Pinckneyville; Dr. C.W. Roe reading "In Flanders Field;" Jaime Wildermuth singing the national anthem and "God Bless America" Kelly Buschschulte and Hunter Stowers (background for echo) playing "Taps;" a gun salute, prayer, and introductory and closing remarks by American Legion members Leonard Heisner, Paul Ritter and Post Commander Jim Higgerson.
